Attempts to mount file system <em>remotefs</em> from the host specified by <em>addr</em> to the local directory <em>mountpoint</em>. The interpretation of <em>addr</em> is specific to the RPC transport implementation. <br />

For the ANIS RPC transport layer, <em>addr</em> is interpreted as an object of type <em>sockaddr_in</em>, with structure members <em>sin_family</em> set to PF_INET, <em>sin_addr</em> set to the NFS server address. The <em>sin_port</em> field is ignored. <br />
|
|
For the lwIP RPC transport layer the address length parameter <em>addr_len</em> determines whether the address <em>addr</em> is interpreted as an object of type <em>sockaddr_in</em> or <em>sockaddr_in6</em>, with address family set to either PF_INET or PF_INET6 in structure members <em>sin_family</em> and <em>sin6_family</em> respectively, NFS server address in <em>sin_addr</em> and <em>sin6_addr</em> and <em>sin_len</em> to the length of the address. The <em>sin_port</em> and <em>sin6_port</em> fields are ignored. <br />

If not the null pointer, <em>args</em> points to additional parameters applied to subsequent operations on the mounted file system. If <em>args</em> is the null pointer, the following defaults apply:</p><ul>

<li>Protocol version 0, i.e. mount is attempted with all supported protocol versions.</li>
|
|
<li>UID 0 (nobody).</li>
|
|
<li>GID 0 (nogroup).</li>
|
|
<li>No supplemental GIDs.</li>
|
|
<li>Transfer size 2048 bytes for read, write, and read directory entries.</li>
|
|
<li>Attribute cache enabled, name cache enabled, read-write mount, privileged port number of NFS protocol RPC, (flags=NFS_MNT_USE_PRIV).</li>

<li>Attribute cache timeout 5 for regular files and 30 for directories.</li>
|
|
<li>1000000 number of retransmissions.</li>
|
|
<li>16 name cache hash chains, 128 name cache entries.</li>

<p>For NFS version 2 transfer sizes are silently limited to 8192 (protocol restriction) and may be further limited by the optimum transfer size advertised by the NFS server. If transfer sizes are set to zero, the server advertised optimum transfer size is used instead. The maximum size for the supplemental GID list is 16 entries. The RPC transport connection timeout is one second, retransmissions are issued after a timeout of 1, 2, 3, and 4 seconds, and then continue every 5 seconds. The first timeout diagnostics message is issued after 15 seconds, then every 5 seconds. <br />

The name cache is only supported when using NFS version 3. One name cache entry consumes about 520 bytes, memory for all name cache entries is allocated at mount time. The validity of name cache entries is determined by the attribute cache timeout values for the respective type of the entry (file or directory). When use of READDIRPLUS is enabled, reading directory entries populates the name cache.</p>
